For this, I’d like to refer you to SMC Consulting. I am the program director and lead trainer for this fine organization. It is the premier training program, instructing in the history and tradition of the 19th Century African American Midwives (The Granny or Grand Midwives). Momma Shafia Monroe is the founder.

After you have taken the training and if you are local, you are local (SF/East Bay Area) please reach out to me for ongoing mentorship and support as you work towards completion of your certification and begin to serve the community as an SMC Full Circle Doula Birth Companion.

You can begin working with my local practice - Shiphrah’s Circle Community Doula program right away if you wish as well.
